Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM)

Water resource management is an extremely sensitive issue in Indonesia. Lack of water during the dry seasons result in drought and the heavy rains of the wet season threaten disaster. Management of water becomes ever more important due to the forces of urbanization and the contamination/deterioration of catchment areas. The legal dialogue on water resources however, is in a critical stage and has developed several reforms and developments in recent years.
